2015

Typically when a new year rings in, I am in that herd chanting "new year, new me, let's do this!". This year however, I didn't even think of it at all. I rung in the new year on holidays with my friends and was having the best time doing absolutely nothing. Relaxing. Turned off. No uni, no work, limited internet access and not much responsibility. (I had a week without Instagram and I actually enjoyed it?!) On New Years Eve after a few too many vodkas, everyone was rattling off what they want to achieve this year but before that I honestly hadn't thought of anything. I tend to make some general 'goals' that I never really stick to so I hadn't bothered to make any.

Now we're over a week into 2015 and I was lucky enough to unintentionally have another week off work (my bank account wouldn't say lucky) so I'm still in denial that reality will set back in soon. I've thought about some things and I'm not going to call them 'resolutions' but they are some things that I'd like to work on and improve in 2015 so I thought I would share them with you.

1. MY BLOG

From looking at my archive, it is clear that I became more consistent in posting on my blog throughout 2014. The number of posts decreased in the last half of the year but I'm still proud of how far I've come in the past year in comparison to my previous efforts.

So this year I hope to improve even more. I enrolled in a SBB Blogging Course so I need to actually buckle down and get into that to help push me a bit more. Post regularly and post content that I'm proud of. I am getting my own DSLR for my 21st so I'm excited have that to help me post better photos as well as starting up my Youtube channel again and uploading regularly on that!

2. UNIVERSITY
I'm in my last year of my course with only five more subjects to complete before I can graduate, yay! I am honestly quite lazy with uni - I often don't start assignments until the day before or the actual due date (oops). Last semester I was more organised than ever, so I'm aiming to continue that and maybe, hopefully manage my time better with assignments so they don't pile on top of me leaving me in a stressed mess! I don't stress often and it takes a lot but it happened a few times in 2014 and took me by surprise.

3. ME

You've all seen the rounds on Tumblr  "In 2015 I am going to be selfish" - and that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm going to put myself first and do what makes me happy, despite what anyone else may think or say. I don't have time or effort to waste on things that don't fulfil me or affect me in a positive way. I'm turning 21 this year and it's my last year of uni so I'm just going to have fun. Try new things, take chances, why the hell not? Got nothing to lose really.

I also want to work on being more open with people. I am very independent and I have a tendency to shut off. I don't like to feel like I am relying on anybody else and I don't always open up very easily. So this year I am going to work on that - being more open with people and accept help when offered. Tell people how I feel, tell my friends and family how much I love and appreciate them because I don't think I tell them enough. I've already done a bit of this already in the past week and I'm so proud of myself. Things can only go up!

What are some things you'd like to achieve this year? I'd love to hear them!
