Twenty Two

We're happy, free, confused and lonely at the same time
It's miserable and magical, oh yeahhhh

I never thought this song would be SO spot on at this age haha. Swifty knows what she's singing about ;)

So it's currently three days after my birthday and I'm finally finding the time to write a post!

Birthdays are weird as you get older. It kinda doesn't even feel like your birthday.

The week leading up to my birthday was a constant rollercoaster of being excited for my birthday then the next day dreading it and not wanting to acknowledge it. I didn't want to make a big deal this year. I didn't want to create this expectation for myself that I would need to have an AMAZING day but only end up disappointed. I kept Friday night lowkey at my local pub because it was short notice and I had a fun drunk time haha. I also had a classic drunk lonely cry but then I got my period the next day (yeah Happy fucking Birthday to me) and it all made sense (well I know that wasn't 100% the cause but we'll go with it haha). Saturday night was really fun though because I got to go into the city my favourite boys and bar hop and it was just so. chill. It was a joint celebration for my friend's 21st too. It was honestly the best. I especially loved driving along with the windows down singing along to the Spice Girls and Taylor Swift hahaha! (cos I'm feelin' twenty twooooo) Then I had a lil sleep and spent the day lazing around with them while they worked on cars and all that fun stuff. The sun was out and it was AMAZING weather! Lucky me hehe. Then I went home and had a yummy baked dinner with my family.

I've been in a bit of a rough patch lately but this week has actually been AMAZING for the most part when I really think about it. I started off with my birthday, then I GRADUATED UNIVERSITY (!!!) (I'm so proud of myself okay, wait for a post on that) and I have taken up a really fun opportunity that I am SO excited to pursue. There's still some battles in my brain but I'll work through them.

We are also nearing the end of State of Serendipity. Sad I know but the name just isn't motivating me anymore, well it hasn't for a while. I'm actually going back to an old name but this time I've purchased a domain and the blog will be BIGGER & BETTER! So watch this space! I finally made a Facebook page and I would LOVE if you could go and give it a like for me. Then you'll definitely know where to find the blog when it goes live!

BLONDE BABYYY

If you follow me on Instagram you would've seen that I (finally) got my hair done the other week. My friend is co-manager at Franck Provost in Breakfast Point so I ventured out there to give my hair some well overdue TLC - it had been 11 months since I'd had my colour done (I know, don't kill me! But look at that gross before & after haha)

I got half a head of foils like I usually do, except this time I got the blonde a bit more on the ashier side and I love it! I was sick of the underneath being so dark and there wasn't enough time for a full head of foils so the girls decided on just doing a bit of belyage underneath. It looks just as good and honestly will be easier for me to maintain in the future (bc your girl can't afford to spend hundreds on her hair)

It feels SOOOOO good to fully blonde again!!!

Happy Place

Let me introduce you to Silver Beach in Kurnell.

This is hands down one of my favourite places. Isn't it just stunning?!  This is where I like to come when I'm feeling sad, anxious or stressed - or all three at once.  It's about a half an hour drive for me but it's always worth it.

It's never too crowded (even on a Sunday afternoon) and it's just really relaxing for me. My favourite part is that you can see the city which is one of my favourite views ever, I never get sick of it. You can see Sydney Airport too and I find something really comforting in watching planes fly in and out of there. Planes and going on adventures is exciting! I just like sitting on the beach for a few hours with a magazine or without but always listening to music. The beach allows dogs so there's always cute puppies running around who come and say hello too.

Where do you go when you're feeling down?

My Go-To Makeup

Hey guys, today I thought I'd show you what I tend to reach for to put on my face everyday!

FACE: After I've moisturised I go straight in with foundation. I use primer on the weekend and some days if I'm bothered but if I'm just going to work or the shops I don't always bother. At the moment I'm fake tanned so I'm using the L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation in 150 Radiant Biege and I use the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in 030 Classic Biege under my eyes and anywhere else that needs it. I set my face with the Australis Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder in Darket Brown. I then contour and bronze up my face with Benefit's Hoola Bronzer and use their Rockateur blush on my cheeks (I usually use this only when I'm tanned because my usual is too light for the tanned life haha) Then I highlight my cheekbones with Incandescent Light from the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette.

BROWS: I use the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Caramel. They only had two colours to choose from when I bought it at the time but it works! Sometimes I'll add some light brown eyeshadow if I feel the need to.

EYES: I swtich between two different products to put in my crease on an everyday basis. Benefit's Hoola bronzer again or the shade Cover from Urban Decay's Naked Basics 2 palette. In this case I used both - I find that Hoola blends WAY easier even with a primer. So that's pretty simple. I use the Maybelline Hypersharp Wing eyeliner and oh my god it's amazing! I used to swear by the Master Precise but I'm obsessed with this. As for mascara, I always use 2-3 different ones as one never seems to quite do the job for me. I curl them first then I use Sephora's Outrageous Curl which took me by surprise. I then go in with the sample size I have of the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara which is a classic and don't know why it's taken me so long to try! I also use the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara because duh.

LIPS: Before I start my makeup I apply Soap & Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker Extreme Lip Plumper. Now I wouldn't say extreme but I think it does something. Then I line my lips with No Bleeding Lips lip liner (no idea what the brand is, I got it from Sephora in Hawaii) and the Rimmel Lip Liner in Addiction. I don't always line my lips, sometimes a girl aint got time for dat. My favourite lipstick at the moment is Mac's Velvet Teddy. I've been wanting it for SO LONG now and I finally caved and bought it when i was in Adelaide and I haven't looked back - it was always looks SO DAMN GOOD! No question as to why it's a beauty must-have.

So that's it really. What are your favourite products to use?

Bondi

Wearing: Cotton On tee, Lily Loves by Target skirt, Betts boots, Rubi sunglasses, Colette by Collete Hayman bag, The Horse watch

On Friday afternoon after I finished work Jordyn and I made our way to Bondi Beach. We originally planned to take photos for both of our blogs but there had been a massive storm so we decided to not bring our big DSLRs and instead just still hang out and do something. We ended up in Bondi as planned anyway and by then the sun was out (trust!). We both share a love for acai bowls so she took me to Bondi Wholefoods which I have wanted to visit for a while now. It was soooo yummy, we definitely left more than satisfied.

Even though I've lived in Sydney my whole life, this was only my second time going to Bondi Beach - crazy right?! Since the sun was out I wanted to wander down around the beach and see the cool graffiti that's displayed along the beach. Luckily the hug dark clouds heading back towards us held off well until after we had left. So of course we had to take photos of each other in front of some graffiti! We found this wall by @awolcreations and decided it was our favourite!

Have you ever been to Bondi? What's some places you recommend there?

Rodeo Drive

Wearing: Cotton On overalls, Asos top, Converse, Quay Australia sunglasses via White Fox Boutique, The Horse watch, Colette by Colette Hayman bag

I'm currently in Adelaide!!! I got here on Wednesday and leave Monday night so just a short lil holiday :) I'm staying with my BEAUTIFUL friend Megan who I've actually known for like six years thanks to these little things called Tumblr and the Internet! This week is the first time we've ever met which will sound weird to a lot of people but it's actually so so cool - but more on that in another post.

Do you call these overalls or dungarees??? I say overalls but I've been suprised to hear people call them the latter - I thought you'd just say dungarees if a baby was wearing some? Anyway, I saw these back in Sydney at Cotton On and really wanted them so I bought them in Rundle St Mall in Adelaide the other day, I'M OBSESSED! I borrowed Megan's 'Rodeo Drive' top and it goes perrrrfectly with it. I've been wanting it for a while myself but never got around to it. I just looked online and they've only got one size left, boooo.

We were walking around her area and found this graffiti on the wall the other day so naturally when we saw it today we took photos of it. It's pretty cute.

Twenty Sixteen

Well, hey there old friend.. Long time no talk.

I'm not going to sit here and rattle off excuses as to why I haven't posted since September (honestly wtf?!). Y'know, life gets in the way and overwhelmingly busy.

Oh yeah by the way, I FREAKING FINISHED UNI!!!!!! I am so proud of myself, it's been a long four years. My graduation ceremony isn't until April but in December I had Graduation Mass and got to wear the gown which was pretty damn exciting in itself - so official!

I just found my post from the start of 2015 and I had 3 main things I wanted to work on during the year. Unfortunately #1 kinda faded away in the second half of the year. With #2 well I successfully completed my last year of uni, but it was definitely the most stressful and anxious semester ever despite the lesser workload. I was a mess. And with #3 I suppose I did that. I was happy most of the year and tried to be more open.

I didn't enter the new year with these big amazing resolutions and goals that everyone has seemed to. I've been so consumed with work for the past two months over the Christmas period (I work in retail so I hope you can understand me here haha) so wasn't in the most positive mindset. Since then though I have moved bedrooms and had a HUGE clean out and de-clutter and it honestly has lifted my mood by about 70%. So I've had a little think about some things - not too deep - that I'd like to work on in 2016.

1. Use my camera more
I got my DSLR for my 21st back in April but I haven't used it as much as I would have liked to. This year I want to take it with me to more places and not be afraid to use it like I was when I was in Thailand.

2. Keep clean
My new room is slightly smaller than my old one and the wardrobe is significantly smaller too. I have thrown a lot out and I'm finally back to loving my space again so I really hope that I stay motivated to keep is nice and clean and keep things to a minimum.

3. Travel
I hope I get to travel again in 2016. I am going away for five nights later this week but only to another state and I know I'll have another weekend away in March for my friend's hens party. If I'm lucky, I'll get myself overseas again at least once this year.

4. Blog & vlog more
This was a goal for 2015 that didn't go to plan but I am going to try again. Ideally I'd love to eventually get myself a lil point-and-shoot camera to vlog with as the DSLR is a bit chunky to carry vlog-style but I will work with what I've got for now. I want to start a 'Weekly Vlog' on my Youtube channel (I may or may not have started today hehe) so keep your eyes peeled for that!

I'm going to stop there because c'mon I need to be realistic here and not throw myself under the bus this early into the year.

So here's to a fabulous 2016! What are some goals or hopes you have for the year ahead?
