Chicken and Haloumi Salad

Here is finally the follow up to my breakfast post! Since I made that post I switched the greek yogurt for vanilla and I've been eating that meal nearly every day (not so much the smoothie as the bowl is filling enough). I'm proud of myself for finally regularly eating breakfast and I'm feeling good. I actually want it when I wake up in the morning.

This is my favourite lunch to make at home, especially since this is sort of a warm meal and it's getting cold here in Sydney. Mum and I loved getting this at our local pub so we decided to try make it at home and honestly I think I like the homemade one better!

You basically just cook up some chicken and haloumi and toss it over your lettuce of choice! We tend to use a mixed bag. Then what makes it super yummy is the lemon vinaigrette dressing which is made up of olive oil, dijon mustard, lemon juice and some salt. I personally don't use exact measurements but there are plenty of recipes online.

This is probably one of my favourite meals ever, I'm a sucker for haloumi cheese! It's light and so easy and quick to make! It also makes me feel just that bit healthier when I'm eating it haha.

#TBT: Paris Photo Diary

Back in 2010 when I was 16,  I went on a two week school trip to France! I'm actually going to Hawaii with my family later this year, during the same dates that I was in France for (crazy coincidence!) Since it's nearing four years since I went on the trip so I thought I would reminisce.

I studied both French and Modern History in Year 11 and 12 and it was a trip for those two subjects. I went during the school holidays between the last term of Year 11 and the first term of Year 12. We spent the first week going around the French Countryside (which I'll save for another post) and we spent the second week in Paris so that's what I'm sharing with you today!

So lucky to have had the opportunity to go on this trip. I will probably post more photos in coming weeks!

Going through these photos is making me want to go back and travel more of the world so much! One day...

Trying to become a breakfast person

I've never been one to eat breakfast in the morning, I usually sleep through it or just skip it due to lack of time. If I do grab something to have on the train or drive to uni or for the drive to work it's usually just an Up & Go.

Two months ago I joined a gym because I want to be healthier. With this comes eating breakfast at the start of my day. For the past week or so I've been eating Chobani Passionfruit greek yogurt when I wake up (usually around 10 or 11am because I'm on break haha oops) and today I decided to try something different so I thought I'd share it with you.

I didn't use exact measurements or anything but I just had some plain greek yogurt, some Honey and Cinnamon Granola from five:am organics and some frozen raspberries. It was my first time trying this yogurt and I honestly didn't like it, it tasted a bit like sour cream to me which helped me understand why so many people use greek yogurt as a healthy alternative to sour cream. Mum and I only bought it because it was small and we didn't want to buy a big container of it if I didn't like it - and there were so many to choose from! I think next time I'll try vanilla yogurt or something.

Anyway, the granola and raspberries made it bearable haha. I also made a smoothie to go along with it. Again didn't use measurements, just used some frozen mixed berries (they're not included in the photo because we don't have the box anymore), almond milk, strawberry yogurt, honey and about one and a half teaspoons of chia seeds. I actually really enjoyed it! I've never put honey in my smoothies before and I think it was part of the reason it tasted so good.

What do you eat for breakfast? I'm interested in trying some different things out!

Also stay tuned for next week I'm gonna write a post on what I had for lunch today (I posted it on my Instagram)

It's now hit Winter here in Australia and I really want a pair of new boots this year (let's be real, I want way more than one haha) It seems that as soon as June hit the weather decided to get cold, rainy and just plain miserable (like it is as I am writing this up)... *whiny voice* I want the warmer weather back! I'm absolutely loving chunky boots at the moment and would hopefully be brave enough to wear them out if I can save enough money to buy them!

What style are you currently into this season? Or if you're currently in Summer and warmer weather what are you looking out for?

What does the future hold?

Here's some inspo for your Wednesday night taken from my Tumblr (cheeky plug!)

Today I thought a lot about my future and where I want to go after uni because this time next year I'll be done with my studies! I've decided for a while now that I want to work in fashion but I'm still unsure as to where - whether it be writing, styling, buying, social media or something else! I've been weighing up whether to study at a fashion college after uni as well, but we'll see where life takes me.

Hope you're all having a lovely week xx
