Product Rave: Essence Gel Eyeliner

I bought this product weeks ago - actually over a month ago - but am only now just getting around to making this post about it. So obviously it's not as clean as the photos.. it has been well used and loved!

This gel eyeliner by Essence and is from their Sun Club range. It comes in various other colours including brown, purple, turquoise and more but I went for the black as I purchased it to see if it was really as great as I had heard about in YouTube reviews.. and it definitely is! It is creamy and glides onto the eyelid smoothly and easily. Unlike the Maybelline EyeStudio gel liner, this one has not yet dried up in the pot - in my experience anyway. You can even see the moisture droplets in the photos if you look close enough.

Essence is available from Target in Australia and their products are very affordable! I can't remember the exact cost as I bought this so long ago but it was only $5-6! (Which I think is great compared to other brands, such as Maybelline, that can cost as much as $15 or more). I'm pretty sure most of their products are under $10 as well. I keep meaning to go back and look at more of  products from Essence - especially since I get a staff discount ;)

Have you tried any products from Essence? If so, what have you thought of them? What is your favourite drugstore brand/s and/or products?

Birthday Wishlist

My 18th birthday is coming up in about three weeks so I've started compiling a wishlist. This is what I have come up with so far.

1. Urban Decay Naked Palette: I have had my eye on this forever after watching too many YouTube videos about it. I am getting it though, I was sitting with Mum when she ordered it off beautybay.com because I had to show her where to get it.. Super excited!!
2. Perfumes; Daisy by Marc Jacobs & Wanderstruck by Taylor Swift: I've also wanted these two since before Christmas and I finally smelt them in January and have been lusting ever since!
3. MAC; lipstick in Party Parrot & Tendertone in Hot 'n' Saucy: Yes, I am fully aware that these two items are very difficult to lay hands on but I really want something from MAC (yes, I am still currently a MAC virgin) and I'd love to own these - although 98% probably won't happen.. a girl can dream, right?
4. White iPhone: I don't even care if it's a 4 or 4S, I just want the white one. I've wanted an iPhone for ages and think I can afford it now. I am even willing to pay half or even more to pay off my current phone plan so I can get this! Just to figure out if I should change phone companies or stay on Virgin..
5. Books; Paper Towns by John Green & Lonely Planet's 1000 Ultimate Experiences: I love John Green and his books so obviously I just want more! I already have two and would love the other three, but I'll begin with asking for this one. I love travelling and I've also wanted this book for ages. Also, I'm pretty sure Mum hinted to me today that she got it for me ;)

So that's all so far.. I may post a #2 in a few days. While writing this up I'm already thinking of some more ideas to do with clothes and such. My parents asked me if I wanted a specific 'thing', as in something special since I'll be turning 18 but I honestly cannot think of anything! Jewellery is an obvious idea, but I honestly don't wear it too much, especially a specific piece. I got a necklace for my 16th with my initials and D.O.B on it but I have not worn it in over a year. I'm not keen on asking for something expensive and knowing I will never make good use of it.

I'm thinking of starting a regular "Wishlist" series, what do you think? I'll probably do it anyway haha.

Warm Autumn Day

Today I went to a Naming Day for my mum's cousin's baby. I bought this skirt two weeks ago in one of my uni breaks spent in the nearby shopping centre (which is great to pass the time, but isn't so great for my bank account) and I've been dying to wear it and thought today would be the perfect time for it's debut!

I really love a bright, bold lip and am always on the look out for great colours in the shops and when watching beauty videos on YouTube. I had been looking for a good reddish-pinkish but could never find one I was confident with. Last month I was shopping before work for a lipstick for my friend's birthday (don't worry I wasn't picking one for her myself - I knew what she wanted as I was with her when she swatched it) and I ended up looking for myself. I swatched this Rimmel lipstick and thought it was nice but was skeptical on buying it as I had bought a bright pink from Covergirl but did not feel brave enough to wear it. I went back and forth between brands but ended up buying this one - an impulse buy you could say? Nevertheless I am really happy with how it looks and will definitely be trying to wear it more often!

I'm currently in love with statement necklaces! I found the necklace last week while cleaning out my room. I haven't worn it in years and discovered it looks nice doubled over (which is how I am wearing it today) and it really made the outfit, in my opinion.

OUTFIT: Singlet; Cotton On, skirt; GirlXpress @ K-Mart, sandals; Piping Hot, necklace; no idea, I've had it for a few years, ring; Lovisa, bag; Ruby & Kit @ Equip, sunglasses; Charlie Brown

FACE: Avon Ideal Flawless Invisible Coverage Foundation in Cream Beige, NYX blush in Peach, Face of Australia Eye Primer in Matte, Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Mocha Latte, Essence gel eyeliner in All Night Black, Maybelline Falsies Mascara in Very Black, Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick in 09
